Have you ever wondered what it is like to live in another part of the world? Are you curious about how water affects our lives? Well a group of students in the US Virgin Islands teamed up with a group of students in Washington State to collaborate on a project that is simple known as "The Water Project." Generation Connect DVD now available. A product of the US Virgin Islands DOE Title V- ETHome project with the non-public schools on St. Thomas/St. John, this DVD is the first in a series of interviews of seniors in the Virgin Islands documenting what it was like to live in the islands years ago. PDAs for Students St. Thomas Moravian School and Wesleyan Academy have embarked on a project that places Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) in 6th grade students' hands. Funded by the schools' Title V funds, these Palm Pilots are used by students in everyday learning. Information, work, and projects, are stored online so that students, teachers, and parents can access at any time from any computer on the Internet through GoKnow's PAAM system. www.goknow.com
TechYES has landed in the Virgin Islands. TechYES is an innovative way for schools, after-school programs, and community organizations to offer a technology certification program to students in grades 6-9. Students are at the center of the solution, backed up with solid research and extensive resources. TechYES is being piloted in a number of VI schools.
